Popular Nigerian singer, Mr Flavour, has been
dumped by his lover after apparently saying
that he was not ready for marriage.
Mr Flavour indicated that he was not ready for
marriage as it was difficult to maintain a good
music career and a good family.
“Most of of my colleagues, whenever they
get married, everything starts crashing down.
I keep asking people: ‘Have you ever seen
a successful musician having a good home
and a good career?’ For now I think
marriage would be a distraction for me,” he
said in an interview on HipTV in April.
His statement is said to have angered his
lover who he has a child with, Anna Banner.
“Mr Flavour and I are no longer together… I
made this decision recently. I spoke to
myself and decided it was time to move on
and focus on my future and career… I never
tried to hold a man down or force marriage
on anyone with my pregnancy,” she told
Nigerian blogger Stella Dimoko.
This came a surprise as in November 2015, Mr
Flavour said in a television interview that he
was getting married ‘soon’. It is not yet
known what made him change his mind.
Mr Flavour was in February 2016, spotted with
his other baby mama – Sandra Okagbue –
sparking rumours that they could be getting
back together.
Okagbue, who also had a relationship with
Chelsea footballer John Obi Mikel, gave birth
to Mr Flavour’s first daughter in September
2014.
Barely a year later, in August 2015, Mr Flavour
got his second child with Banner.
Banner said that she did not know that Mr
Flavour was dating Okagbue when they
started seeing each other.
“I never knew Mr Flavour was with another
woman while we were dating… He never
mentioned/admitted he had any relationship
ties with anyone even after rumour had it
that he was dating someone else and she
was even pregnant for him. I believed him,”
Banner told Dimoko.
Mr Flavour is mostly know in Kenya for his
‘Ashawo’ hit and recent “Give It To Me”
collaboration with Akothee.
