WORLD MUSIC DAY TO BE HELD IN KENYA

Nairobi is set to be one of the host
cities for this year’s Fete de la Musique (World
Music Day) to be held on the 18 of June at
the Alliance Francaise.
The event which was launched in 1982 by the
French Ministry of Culture is celebrated across
more than 100 countries across the world, with
more than 450 cities taking part. Nairobi joins
the celebration of music with a host of Kenyan
artists including Third Hand Music, Swahili Ally,
Ziki the Band, Mufasa the Movement, Love and
Light Poets and the Nairobi Dance Ensemble.
With such a diverse and talented list of
performers, one would expect a relatively high
entrance fee for the event.
This is however not the case with the event
being free to attend, easily making this a
contender for the plan of the weekend. Join
the rest of the world in celebrating music
courtesy of the French government this
weekend from 6pm to experience diversity at
its finest.
