CORD GETS UNEXPECTED SUPPORT

Nairobi - KANU Secretary General Nick Salat has backed the CORD Coalition and its efforts to forcefully remove the IEBC.
Salat, who was on Monday seen in Nairobi in the presence of CORD Coalition leaders who were protesting against the IEBC in Nairobi, says that change is a must in a society that has been hurt by past ills.
“We need change. Asking for change is not a bad thing and is not an insult to anyone but a constitutional right afforded to Kenyans,” he said.
He added that the Police brutality seen at the protests was unwelcome and that there would continue to be on the streets regardless of the intimidation.
“We are not intimidated. We will continue to be here until the process is complete,” he added.
KANU as a party has stated that it would like there to be changes to the IEBC but it has not been on record as saying it supports the street protests.
Salat has in previous times differed with the Jubilee Coalition which KANU supports and whether this move is an indicator that he has jumped ship ahead of the 2017 polls.
