HASAAN'S IEBC VOTED BEST IN AFRICA

(IEBC) because it is the best in Africa.
Venting on social media, Political
analyst and scholar, Amukowa
Anangwe, said the country has one of
the best legal framework and procedure
of appointing electoral commissioners
in Africa, at least according to two
respected regional bodies.
Anangwe, who is a political science
lecturer at the University of D0doma,
Tanzania, a polluted political
environment is the main cause of
controversies surrounding the IEBC.
He revealed that the IEBC came number
one in the recent survey conducted by
COMESA and IGAD on the management
of elections in Africa.
“The manner of appointing IEBC and
the enabling legal framework are still
the best regional practice,” said
Anangwe.
He noted that the alleged shortcomings
in IEBC in terms of performance as
alleged by Raila Odinga could be an
indicator of something else and not the
existing structure.
