IEBC disqualifies Rarieda MP candidate Augustine Adhola

BREAKING NEWS
Meanwhile, the commission has summoned 24 politicians fighting for various seats for violence and breach of itd code of conduct.
The politicians have been asked to appear before the IEBC Electoral Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee on July 6.
Those summoned are Migori Governor Okoth Obado and his rival running as independent Ochilo Ayacko
The electoral commission has disqualified Rarieda independent parliamentary candidate Augustine Netto Adhola from the August 8 race.
Mr Netto now becomes the first casualty in the long list of politicians who have breached the electoral code of conduct, receiving the last and final form of punishment from the IEBC: being barred from the race altogether.
SH250,000 FINE
Mr Netto had on June 22 been ordered, within 48 hours, to pay Sh250,00 fine to the commission and remove all posters and campaign materials bearing ODM colours and images of the ODM leader Raila Odinga, failure to which the IEBC warned that he will be disqualified.
“The Electoral Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee notes that the said Netto Adhola failed, neglected and ignored to obey any of the Orders or at all,” IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said in a statement.
Though Mr Netto had filed an appeal at the High Court to stay the execution of the punishment, Mr Chebukati said, he had lost the case on June 30 with the court affirming the decision of the electoral agency.
“In the premises, the commission has enforced the decision of the committee of June 22, 2017 and hereby directs that Augustine Netto Adhola is disqualified from contesting in the upcoming General elections 2017,” Mr Chebukati, the chair of the committee whose members are the IEBC commissioners, said in the statement.
SH1 MILLION
Mr Netto’s case filed by ODM Rarieda parliamentary aspirant Erick Onyango was one of the seven cases filed with the committee.

NCIC GIVES POST ELECTION VIOLENCE FEAR

The commission has in the past named 19 counties as hotspots for violence during the election.
They also identified hate speech on vernacular radio stations and social media.
The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has echoed sentiments by European Union election observers of possible violence and asked electoral body to discharge its mandate effectively.
The EU Election Observation Mission to Kenya on Monday raised the red flag over possible elections violence.
“There is a serious risk of violence because politicians are beating the drums of war but we can stop this if all of discharge our responsibilities as required under the law,” Ms Irene Wanyoike, the NCIC vice chair said at a press conference on Tuesday.
MISLED
She was accompanied by commissioners Roba Sharamo and Adan Abdi Mohammed. The statement was signed by Chairman Francis ole Kaparo, who did not attend the briefing.
She however clarified that raising the red flag does not confirm that there will be violence, saying there is hope for peace if Kenyans refuse to be misled by politicians.
Among the things the commission has flagged out include the widening ethnic and political polarisation, increased use of inflammatory statements largely characterised by inter and intra-ethnic profiling by the political class and their supporters.
This, the commission noted, has resulted into political hooliganism and violence in some areas.
INSENSITIVE
They also identified hate speech on vernacular radio stations and social media and what it describes as “notable insensitive and sensational reporting by a section of the media.

TIPS FOR BETTING IN KENYA, BEGINNERS

How do these winners do it? What's the secret? Is there a science (or the art) behind success in betting?
First of all, as previously mentioned, it can take some time to master the skill of making money on betting. If you're a beginner, don't be in a rush. As easy and simple as sports betting looks, you aren't likely to get things right at the start. If you do it the wrong way, you won't enjoy sports betting and you won't make money.Take your time to learn.
Here are the top tips for beginners
1. Understand as much as you can about the sport that you're betting on
An experienced player will tell you that it isn't just about how many wins the team has had during their last six or eight games. Rather, it's about how well they've been playing offensively or defensively. Have there been fights internally? Has the coach been replaced? Is the team good at home or away?
These details will help you place a good bet and predict an outcome that is as accurate as possible.
2. The one that's favorite doesn't always win
An unwritten rule that is worth considering. It however can be difficult to ignore because of the odds given.
A good example is was when Leicester City won the Premier League during the 2015/16 season. The odds of them doing it were 5000 / 1 and the favorites were Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Spurs.
Leicester City did it against all odds and yes, a lot of Kenyans made good money betting on Leicester's games, especially when they played at home during that season. The odds weren't always in their favor until towards the end of the season. They did so simply because of how Leicester was playing.
3. Don't bet emotionally. Don't bet with your heart
You love your team. You want them to win. It makes sense that they should. They are up against strong opposition but then you are convinced that because you love them, they must win. You go ahead and put a huge amount of money on them to win. Then they lose. You are depressed or even angry at yourself.
This has been the scenario of many Kenyans who didn't take their time to do their homework. Avoid betting with your heart. Use your head. You've got the Internet so have no excuse about searching for as much information as possible about the teams playing. It's all out there and it's free. Basically yours for the taking.
If you can master this, then you'll be careful and purposeful about your betting. This also includes tricky fixtures such as derby games where people tend to place bets passionately without having a wholesome look at the possible outcomes.
4. Bet with what you can afford to lose
Betting should be fun. Don't make it a matter of life and death. It's not a good idea to play with your rent or your children's school fees or other people's money. That's another sign of someone who hasn't done their homework.
Once you've sorted your expenses and aligned your budget, then you can have some fun and place your bet. This also ensures that you won't be chasing your losses.
It will also automatically answer the question, "how much should I bet?"

5. Keep good records of how you're betting
Do you want to experience betting success, long term? Then it should be wise for you to keep records of your betting.
Track the bets you're making - the odds, the result and any comments you could want to add on that particular bet.
If you keep records of your bets, it will make you more disciplined and less random. It will also assist you in keeping track of your betting profits and losses and you'll be wiser. Each result will increase your discipline in betting.
6. Think long-term and give yourself time
We're deliberately mentioning this again because it sits right up there with Oxygen when it comes to betting. Time works magic
The temptation to get rich quick is strong and people tend to think it's a real possibility. It simply doesn't happen.
Think long term. Start small and build up as you slowly increase the amount you bet on each game. Soon you'll find you're making some good money on the side and perhaps, if you persist long enough, you could hit the jackpot or make a living out of betting at the very least. A few Kenyans are doing so but they are very careful about it.
Bottom line, be responsible about your betting. Avoid trying to 'make things interesting' as that ends up being a losing strategy. With betting, you'll sometimes have good days and sometimes you'll have bad days. However, if you follow these tips, you should be able to find the best bets that give you value for your money and make a profit more often than not.

MAKONDE PEOPLE'S JOURNEY TO KENYAN CITIZENSHIP

Kenyan president, Uhuru Kenyatta, has on 14th Oct 2016 ,  declared the Makonde people of Kenya as Kenyan citizens thus adding another tribe to the already existing 42 tribes of kenya. Most of you have either never heard of them or read about their cousins in Mozambique. Many don't know how they got to Kenya or even their existence.

The ethnic Makonde community were brought
in to work on sugar plantations at the defunct
Ramisi Sugar Factory.
They did not return to their motherland when
the factory collapsed over three decades ago
and live in the derelict houses in former
plantations.
Historically, they have been isolated and
despised by local Muslims. Many of them
resorted to palm wine tapping and sale after
the sugar industry collapsed.
Local chauvinists have held myths that the
Makonde practiced cannibalism, thus
enhancing their isolation. Legally, they live in
limbo because although the Kenyan authorities
have not expelled them, it has not given them
citizenship either. But in fact they are renowned for their artistic culture throughout the world made famous by the exquisite Makonde carvings.

A couple of years ago, Mozambican embassy
officials in Kenya visited the area and tried to
persuade them to return to their motherland
but none of them was willing to do so.
Recently, Mozambique embassy officials
entered discussions to try and register them
to vote in the country’s October polls.
Their insist to stay in the Kenyan coast has finally bore fruits as after years of cry to the Kenyan government to acknowledge them as citizens, and even a demonstration at the Kenyan president's residence. The Uhuru government has promised to give them Kenyan citizenship and grant them Kenyan ID cards as they officially become assimilated into the Kenyan tribes.

MOROCCO PLAYER TO JOIN CARDIFF CITY

Chamakh, 32, is a free agent, having been released by Premier League side Crystal Palace at the end of his contract in the summer. The Morocco international had a three-year spell at Arsenal, having arrived from French club Bordeaux in 2010.
Free agents
He had loan spells at West Ham United and Palace before joining the Eagles on a permanent basis in 2014. If the deal goes through, Chamakh will be Neil Warnock’s third free agent signing as the Bluebirds are also expected to confirm the signings of Junior Hoilett and sol Samba in time for the Manager’s first game against Bristol city on Friday October 14.

DIAMOND PLATINUMZ TOPS KENYAN ITUNES CHARTS

At the rate Kenyans are consuming local music, for sure artists will have something to wail about. If it’s not Naija music dominating our airwaves, it is Kwaito or bongo.
And if the charts are anything to go by, Kenyans would rather listen to foreign music than support their own local artists. This factoring in that the quality of music from Kenya has gone way up but why are Kenyans still not buying their own music? That is a story for another day.
As it stands, Tanzanian music star Chibu Dangote aka Diamond, will be singing straight to the bank as Kenyans buy his latest song ‘Salome’ thrusting it to first position in the itunes top 100 not in Tanzania or the US, but Kenya.

SENIOR KENYAN POLICE OFFICER DITCHES WIFE FOR "CLANDE'

a policewoman confronted her husband, the twice-married area OCS, over an affair with a freshly recruited cop.
Victor Oduor, who has been the Embakasi OCS for six years, has allegedly been in a relationship with a fresh recruit, Elizabeth Rimba. His wife, Irene Matangala, also a police officer based in Embakasi, caused a scene as fellow officers watched from a distance.
Irene accuses Oduor of transferring her to Mukuru so that he could have time with his new squeeze.
Irene burst into Oduor’s office and beat up Elizabeth, the kurutu, who managed to bolt to safety. Irene then turned her wrath on her hubby who has since denied that Irene is his wife. Oduor says they only had a fling which ended last year.
“She was not in uniform, but had been hiding, waiting for the new recruit to come in before accosting her. She got her chance when she saw the recruit walk into Oduor’s office where she kicked the door open and started a fight,” said a police source within the station.
“We couldn’t get into the fight because we know they had a relationship and we all felt they should sort out their issues as adults,” added the police officer who witnessed the daytime drama.
Irene says she met Oduor in 2012 when she was a fresh recruit from Kiganjo. “We came to Embakasi and he looked very troubled. I came to learn that he had been having problems with his wife and was always unhappy. Fellow officers asked me to take care of him and that’s how I became his girlfriend and eventually his wife,” narrated Irene. She says they have been living together on and off, as Oduor still occasionally goes back to his first wife.
“We had a baby and life has been good. He was paying rent and other expenses until he got a new girlfriend in April. He then suddenly turned his back on us and stopped paying rent and caring about us. I am very bitter with him,” laments Irene.
She even insists that Oduor transferred her to Mukuru so that he could get some quality time with his
mpango wa kando.
Oduor told The Nairobian that he had an affair with Irene, but she has never been his wife. “When you work closely with someone, you can sometimes fall in love. We are all human, it happened to me and we had a baby. I later came to realise she isn’t a straightforward woman and I decided to end the relationship. She threatened me that she will go to the media with our story, but unlike her, I don’t want to go into details and expose to the public what she did to me and the reason why I ended the relationship. Being a single man, I eventually found love again, but she has refused to let go.”
The OCS says he has been catering for his daughter and even supports Irene’s child from an earlier marriage.
“There is so much going on between us, and only a few friends know how I have suffered. I am a man. All I know is that I am doing the best I can to take care of the child I had with Irene,” said Oduor.

DAVID MARAGA'S APPOINTMENT AS KENYA'S CJ TO BE CHALLENGED

Some residents of Ainamoi constituency have prepared two petitions to present to the National Assembly opposing the appointment of Court of Appeal Judge David Maraga as the new Chief Justice.
The residents based their petitions on a ruling delivered by Justice Maraga in a case on the killing of David Kimutai Too, then Ainamoi MP.
The judge, then based at the High Court in Nakuru, reduced the murder charge against the accused to manslaughter and jailed him for 10 years.
The accused, Andrew Moeche Omwenga, was charged with killing Mr Too and traffic police officer Eunice Chepkwony in Eldoret town on January 31, 2008.
The petitions have been prepared by Emmanuel Korir, a parliamentary aspirant, and Tom Biegon, an aide to Ainamoi MP Benjamin Langat.

WATCH MBEYA SECONDARY STUDENT BEAT UP TO NEAR DEATH

A video has emerged on Thursday 6th October of a Kenyan student from Mbeya secondary school in Kenya being beat up to a pulp.
This is evidence that the canning of students and pupils in kenya , which has been banned for years now is far from over. Kenyan secondary schools have been on a riotous streak which was blamed on leniency on the part of kenyan teachers. This might be a sign that teachers are preparing to show their might as canning cases are of late on the rise.
The video has prompted Kenyans on social media to call for the sacking of the teachers of mbeya secondary school and legal action taken against them.

REVEALED: AFC LEOPARDS PLAYERS WITH STD

AFC Leopards club officials have begged female
fans to stop bombarding players with free sex
after it emerged that three first-team players
underwent treatment last week for a sexually
transmitted infection.
The officials are concerned that the sex orgies
after matches are affecting team discipline,
which has made some players unavailable for the
crucial match against Western Stima, as they
are currently undergoing treatment for an STI.
The Nairobi News has confirmed from a number
of sources within the club’s hierarchy that the
trio, a goalkeeper, defender and midfielder, were
all diagnosed with the ailment last week and
consequently went for treatment with the club
footing the bill.
INFECTED BY FAN
Further reports suggest that the players are
almost certainly believed to have been infected
after sleeping with one female fan during an
orgy.
“The players have confessed to ‘roasting’ one
woman who is an ardent fan of the club
affiliated to the branches, an Ingwelett,” a top
club official who spoke to Nairobi News on a
condition of anonymity said.
“Thus, we have talked to the players about self
discipline, and even asked the branch officials to
try and control the fans from intimately
interacting with the players,” the official added.
The decision by the club’s management to
engage its branch officials over the matter was
arrived at following a national executive
committee meeting held in Nairobi on Tuesday
evening.

5 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT CJ DAVID MARAGA

Justice David Maraga was on Thursday unveiled
as the Judicial Service Commission’s choice for
the post of Chief Justice.
He graduated with a degree in Law from the
University of Nairobi in 1977 and has a post-
graduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law
in 1978. He holds a masters in Law from the
University of Nairobi as well.
Here are five other things to know about him;
1.He will only serve one term
Justice Maraga is 64 years old. The Chief
Justice position has an age limit of 70, meaning
he will only serve one term and the commission
will have to again interview applicants for his
replacement.
His one term at the helm of the judiciary, if
aproved, will match his predecessor Willy
Mutunga who resigned before reaching 70 years
2.He is going to be the 14th chief justice
Justice Maraga will be the 14th person to hold
the office of the Chief Justice in post-
independence Kenya. He will however be the
second person to hold the office under the new
constitution.
3.He is a staunch Seventh Day Adventist
During his interview on August 31, Justice
Maraga was categorical that he would not work
on Saturday in line with his Sabbath Day
Adventist faith. He said he cannot compromise
church for work.
4.He headed the tribunal that recommended the
removal of Judge Joseph Mutava
Justice Maraga had on Wednesday presented a
report to President Uhuru Kenyatta
recommending for the removal of Judge Mutava
for misconduct. This was after the tribunal he
headed concluded its hearings and produced a
full report.
5.He describes himself as a good time manager
Justice Maraga says he used to apologise when
court started late while working in Kisumu. He
prides himself in being a decisive person of
integrity and humility and a good time
manager. He cited his record as the presiding
judge of the Appellate Court in Kisumu from
October 2014 to July 2016 where he made 1,250
judgments thereby clearing case backlogs.

EMBARRASSING!!! LUPITA NYONG'O NAME CALLED IN PUBLIC

Lupita Nyong’o’s name is
not only hard for Americans to pronounce but to
spell as well.
Jimmy Kimmel’s weeknights show on abc
channel took to the streets to find out if anyone
could correctly spell the actress’ name.
The challenge had a monetary price to it, which
was doubled every time people failed in the
spelling competition.
Starting from $5 the Americans on the streets
struggled with Lupita’s surname some saying
they could not even attempt to spell her first
name which is of Mexican origin.
This despite the fact that Lupita is on the cover
of Vogue magazine, October edition.
The magazine documented the actress’ life in
her village home in Kisumu County in a YouTube
video as she learnt how to make Kenya’s staple
meal, ugali.
QUEEN OF KATWE
The Wednesday night Spellebrity segment on
Jimmy Kimmel’s show had to double the price
for spelling Lupita’s name every time someone
failed.
This increased the price from $5 (Sh500) to a
whopping $1,280 (Sh128,000) which was
ultimately won by a woman of Nigerian descent.
During the competition only two women spelled
Lupita’s surname correctly, both of African
descent, but one failed to include the apostrophe
which the show host said was key as it is placed
towards the end unlike Irish names whose
apostrophe is at the start of the name.
Lupita appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show to
promote her latest Movie Queen of Katwe which
premiers on Friday.
During her interview she discussed her
experience shooting the movie with a first time
young actress as her daughter whose plays
Phiona Mutesi, the chess guru.
She also discussed her starstruck moments
when she met Beyonce and Jay Z as well as
being mentioned on the American rapper’s We
Made It song.

4 REASONS KENYAN WOMEN ARE TO BLAME FOR BAD RELATIONSHIPS

Allure of foreign men
I also read somewhere that it was some West
African oil tycoon bankrolling Vera Sidika’s
larger-than-life lifestyle. Chic posts flashy new
pictures every second on Instagram like it’s her
job, yet she can still afford a half-a-million-
shilling weave, a quarter-million-shilling pair of
heels, supposed fifty-million-shilling skin-
lightening surgery, three nights at the
prestigious Villa Rosa Kempinski and a holiday in
Dubai — if gossip sites are anything to go by
these days.
Then I read again that one of my celebrity
crushes, Habida, had said “Yes” to an Igbo
mister and relocated to the West; that Avril has
committed to a Zulu man and wedding bells are
lurking in the shadows and that Jolene of Tahidi
High had received a brand new Kompressor as a
birthday present from her South African
sweetheart.
I read in silence. Profound— albeit disturbed —
silence. And I wondered what it was that these
bozos had that we, Kenyan men, didn’t. I
wondered what it was that was driving our
lovely women away from their motherland to
foreigners. I wondered what a loud guy with an
accent sounding like he had just swallowed a
live frog and it peed in his mouth could possibly
do/say to my woman to make her walk out my
door and straight into his arms.
The ladies told me we don’t treat them right,
that our Oga brodas are as romantic as it gets.
And I retorted that I know I’m a douche myself,
but even then, I pull out the seat for my dates
every once in a while. And I’m a broke, good-for-
nothing son of a mere high school teacher, but
I’ve once hired a taxi to and from a date. Come
to think of it, I never even got laid that night.
Women! Huh!
Outrageous demands
Some told me it was about the money; that our
pockets just aren’t deep enough. Or that we are
too mean to go all out. To these women, I told
the story of a certain Phil [not his real name], a
former campus chum of mine who moved his
beloved out of the institution hostels into her
own fully-furnished, two-bedroom apartment.
With a 42’ inch flat screen television, state of
the art sound system et al. She had these
outrageous demands, which Phil tried his best
to meet.
Lack of gratitude
When I thought really hard about it, I realised
that maybe we weren’t the ones with the
problem. It could just as easily be the women.
See, dating a modern day Kenyan girl is as
demanding as it is tiring. You’d think you were
pulling an unmoving truck glued to your bottom.
You go out of your way to make her happy but
for her lack of gratitude, she will never
acknowlege your efforts.
It will always start slow; you on your best
behaviour and she playing ridiculously hard to
get. You will take her to lunch, probably at
Galitos (because that’s where all the ‘cool cats
are’); buy her chocolates and ice cream on her
birthday; take her for evening coffee at
Gibson’s; meet her friends and act like you’re
the nicest character on earth, tolerating all their
bull$#!t and non-stop gossip; you will even take
her out once in a while for a good time, where
you may end up spending much more than you
bargained for ‘cause these girls “don’t do cheap
liquor” then hire a cab and drop her drunken butt
back home as you walk.
Used and dumped’
Then she will begin feeling and hanging around
you more; getting touchy-freely with you all the
time, calling you sweet names. The goodnight
hugs will turn into pecks and then, with time,
full-blown kisses.
Then she will finally open the doors of her
kingdom and you will slide in majestically,
almost like a veteran soldier heading out to war
with a Third World country, with the precision of
a butcher.
She will moan and scream your name with a few
inferences to the glorious Man Above and you
will feel accomplished, proud and more like a
man than you ever had before. And a voice
inside you will— almost boastfully— say. “Yes,
say my name, Baby. Say my name. You smart.
You loyal!”
She will agree to a relationship the next
morning. Count yourself lucky if she doesn’t ask
the one question no man wants to hear after a
romp. Ati, “So what are we?” To which my
response is always BFFs (best friends forever).
I’ve been punched by a lady before though, so
gentlemen don’t try this at home. I know enough
men who have been used and dumped.
A couple months or so into the relationship and
all hell will break loose. She sees you talking to
another mami for two seconds and she goes
red. You don’t pick her calls, even if you were
