Commandant Inspector Boaz Odero said the
girl had quarreled with her step brother who
accused her of stealing food on Wednesday
night.
“The information we got is that the deceased
later went to sleep and woke up for school as
usual, only to be found hanging on a tree
behind her parents’ house at around 10am,”
said Mr Odero. The incident comes just a few
months after another pupil, 11, committed
suicide in the area’s Sinapanga estate.
The pupil at Soweto Academy is said to have
ended his life by hanging himself with a rope
inside his parents’ house. Elsewhere, a 34-
year-old fisherman drowned into the waters of
Lake Victoria when their boat capsized at
Mahanga beach in Mageta Island Bondo Sub-
county last night. According to Mageta
Location Chief Ambrose Ogema, Samson
Onyango Odhiambo was in the company of
three colleagues when the boat was hit by
strong winds.
