ACCIDENT KILLS POLICE WOMAN

A female traffic officer succumbed to injuries she sustained after being hit by a speeding lorry while on duty in Athi River on Tuesday,April 19.

The officer, Sylivia Chebet died on Thursday, two days after being hospitalised and it is said she had barely finished a year in service since her passing out from training.
Sylvia becomes the second  traffic police officer to be killed by speeding motorists while in the line of duty in 2016.

In January, a traffic police officer was killed along Mombasa Road while controlling traffic.
Levi Njonjo was killed as he controlled traffic near the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport a head of the arrival of President Uhuru Kenyatta from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia .

Another traffic police officer narrowly survived death after he was hit by a speeding bus that is said to belong to his senior on Thursday,February 18 .
According to the National Transport and Safety Authority, 2,357 Kenyans
