MOSES KURIA SUES RAILA

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has moved to court to sue CORD leader Raila Odinga over Monday’s anti-IEBC protests.
Kuria said that the actions of CORD leaders amounted to contravention of Article 37 of the Constitution that gives Kenyans the right to “to assemble, demonstrate, picket, and present petitions to public authorities.”

Kuria is among some of the Jubilee leaders who have expressed their displeasure with CORD’s march to IEBC offices on Monday to force for their eviction over apparent ineptitude to handle the next elections.
CORD’s procession was, however, thwarted by police who used teargas to disperse the protesters who included coalition leaders Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka.
The coalition leaders have, however, insisted that their actions on Monday were justified saying they were within their rights to hold the demonstrations.
Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale stated that their actions were guided by the Constitution saying call for a parliamentary process would not have yielded fruits.
CORD leaders have also defended their actions saying they would surge on in their push for the removal of IEBC.
Coalition leader Raila Odinga this week stated that they would not agree to run in the 2017 General Election with the IEBC in place as currently constituted.
