POLICE OFFICER MADE MILLIONS SELLING BEDSHEETS

Corporal Susan Wangari, a traffic officer in
Vihiga appeared before the National Police
Service Commission vetting panel and
defended a transaction of KSh 5 million in five
months despite having a monthly salary of
KSh 40,000.

Wangari told the police vetting panel led by
the commission’s chair, Johnston Kavuludi
that she had made that money from selling
bed sheets, vitenges and lesos from her
working station.

transacted KSh 87,000 in August, KSh 106,000
in September, KSh 194,000 in October, Ksh

Certificate of Secondary Education exams.

this vetting panel. Why do you insist on
speaking in Kiswahili? Unless you did not sit
for these exams yourself?” questioned an
irked Kavuludi.
Wangari scored a C plus in the same exams,
defending that she was a better Kiswahili
speaker.
This however did not go down well with the
panel who refused her request because ‘they

She was eventually allowed to revert to

English language.
She was also directed to file a proper wealth
declaration form because she had presented a
faulty document to the panel on the same
