HOMABAY YOUTHS DESTROY JUBILEE PROPERTY

Youths in Homa Bay town on Wednesday
evening pulled down and burnt a Jubilee
Party billboard, saying the region is an
ODM zone.
Police who acted swiftly rescued two
Magnate Venture employees who were
putting up the banner from irate youths.
Mr Victor Mbakaya, one of the
employees said that they never knew it
had President Uhuru Kenyatta and his
Deputy William Ruto’s images until
when they opened it.

The youths, on seeing the images, pulled
the banner down and set it on fire
before police dispersed them.
However, Jubilee officials from the area
have denied hiring the Magnate Ventures
employees to erect the billboard in the
town.
Homa bay County TNA coordinator
Rosemary Rumo blamed the employees
of Magnate ventures over the incident.
"As TNA and officials of Jubilee coalition,
we have just arrived in Nairobi for a
delegates’ meeting slated for Thursday.
We were unaware of such bill boards,"
she said.
Ms Rumo who spoke on phone from
Nairobi accused those behind the
billboards of attempt to portray Luo
Nyanza as an anti-Jubilee zone.
"As far as we are concerned, it is only
after Saturday's National convention
when the officials of the new party will
be unveiled that we had arranged to
start marketing the party in Homa Bay,"
she added.
