RAILA,MOSES KURIA EAT TOGETHER

CORD principals led by Raila
Odinga on Tuesday hosted Jubilee politician
Moses Kuria over lunch at a popular Nairobi
restaurant.
The lunch date which also saw other
politicians accused of hate speech joining the
duo comes days after Kuria was captured in a
video making inflammatory and inciteful
remarks targeting Raila.
In the video, Kuria is said to have called for
the assassination of CORD leader Raila
Odinga.
Kuria made the remarks at the thanksgiving
ceremony of a vernacular station radio
presenter held at the Safaricom indoor
stadium, Kasarani.
The video which went viral prompted a sharp
reaction from the Opposition politicians who
demanded action against Kuria.

Addressing a press conference in Nairobi at
Raila's Capitol Hill offices, the CORD MPs
threatened to storm Inspector General of
Police Joseph Boinnet's office only later to be
arrested for the remarks.
Today’s lunch meeting is likely to diffuse
tension and promote tolerance among the
leaders and within their supporters.

UHURUTO DISOWNS MOSES KURIA

President Uhuru Kenyatta says that
hate speech mongers, even those within his
own Jubilee Coalition must be punished for
their utterances.
The President, who is currently in Belgium, is
said to have told Coalition leadership not to
show solidarity with the hate speech mongers
so as not to give out a bad impression to
Kenyans.
He says that the fact that the leaders in court
have been charged fir genuine offences means
that they are on their own.
" The President has been clear that the Jubilee
leaders in court must defend themselves on
their own,"
The President is said to have been angered by
the Jubilee leaders Kuria, Kimani Ngunjiri of
Bahati and Ferdinand Waititu of Kabete for
spoiling the name of the Coalition.
" If the President is seen to defend hate
speech mongers then a very bad message will
be sent to Kenyans," the source added.
The MPs, as well as five others from the CORD
Coalition are in court seeking bail after
spending the last four days in Police custody.

NAIROBI SENATOR, MIKE SONKO SPEAKS ABOUT MOSES KURIA. READ

There is a serious storm brewing over
utterances linking Kuria to the killing of Raila,
which he made during a rally in his Gatundu
South constituency over the weekend.
The aftermath has seen 7 leaders from across
the divide arrested for alleged hate speech and
Sonko says that no leader should incite
Kenyans against each other.
" We are trying to build a peaceful nation and
utterances from leaders which seek to break
that should be punished," he said.
He also asked Kenyans not to be swayed into
Political talk as it would not be of help to their
lives since the country belongs to them.
" The country belongs to Kenya. By purporting
to fight each other, we destroy the same
country we love and live in," he added.
Kuria has already recorded a statement on the
utterances at CID headquarters as have other
leaders who have been picked up by CID
officers this morning.

MOSES KURIA IS UNTOUCHABLE

Efforts to jail Gatundu South MP
Moses Kuria over hate speech are a waste of
time, a Jubilee MP says.
Kuria, who is under-fire over comments
attributed to him calling for the killing of CORD
leader Raila Odinga has been taken in for
questioning by the CID over the comments.
However, a Jubilee MP believes that the arrest
is only there to mask the fact that Kuria is
more or less untouchable.
The Central Kenya MP, who asked not to be
named thanks to the veracity of the comments
says that Kuria is a favourite of President
Uhuru Kenyatta's and that no one will touch
him.
" No one can touch Kuria whether they like it
or not because he is a favourite of the
President," the MP complained to News24.
The MP insisted that Kuria's comments are
uncalled for and that he must be punished but
that it will never happen.
" He must be punished for his comments but I
can bet you that he will not. It is not the first
time he has been in court. You wait and see,"
the MP added.
Kuria wrote a statement at the CID
headquarters in Nairobi Monday and it remains
to be seen what action Police will take over
the matter.
